I have been in a pretty serious funk for the last few weeks, knowing Cheryl and Rob's move to AZ was imminent. Cheryl and I (AKA Chether) always said that we don't want to live far apart from each other ever again and now we are... this must be how Cheryl felt when I moved out here after college. My stomach just feels heavy :(
On Saturday I drove Cheryl and Jace to the airport and we had our usual fun conversation and enjoyed one last over-eating expedition together at In-N-Out. We had our teary-eyed goodbye at the airport and then I pretty much stayed in bed the rest of the weekend having a Friends marathon on Netflix.
I'm trying to focus on the 3 years of happy adventures we had in California together and so instead of dragging on and on, I'll do one of those classic "flashback" episodes, recapping all of my favorite moments we shared together!
Jace being born! I will always treasure the memory of getting to visit Rob and Cheryl and baby Jace on the day of his birth. Seeing my incredible best friend as a new mother, after one of the best days of her entire life was so special to me.
Cheryl's baby shower picnic at Mission San Juan Bautista
Typical weekends spent together - trips to the farmers market, beach days, pizza nights, and lots of home-cooked meals
Discovering San Juan Bautista (before we worked there together!)
Cutting down our Christmas trees (every year!)
Eating lots of breakfasts together... I think seeing Jace at Rocky's in his little flannel was my fav!
Our outdoor spa day - AKA the time we couldn't stop laughing at how gross the strawberry face masks were
I am eternally grateful for all the times Cheryl and Rob took care of Rudybega :)
And I loved all the time I got to spend with their silly pups, too :)
The epic Jam-B-Q - SO many fun stories from this night...
Showing Cheryl and Rob Davenport, my favorite little sleepy beach town
This list of memories is really just scratching the surface of all of the fun times we had together! All in all, I wouldn't trade anything in the WORLD for the time Cheryl and Rob lived in California. These have truly been the most fun years of my life, in large part thanks to them always welcoming me into their family. I am wishing them all the best and I can't wait to see what life has in store for them next :)
