It was about three years ago we first saw this little home for sale just a few houses down from our cottage rental. One of Brent's cycling buddies owned it and had just put it on the market, and although we really loved it, we were not ready to buy a home together. At that time we were commuting an hour each way to our jobs, Brent was still pretty new to California, and we were sorting out some bumps in the road, relationship-wise (to put it nicely). I wanted to make sure we got it all worked out before we jumped feet-first into one of the most stressful transactions of our lives together.
As fate would have it... we took a couple of years to grow back together as a loving and trusting partnership, and 2 months after we happily said "I do", the home magically popped back up for sale! The world works in wonderfully mysterious ways, I suppose.
Long story short - I've been MIA for a few months because I've been in a flurry of newlywed bliss, researching everything there is to know about buying a home, scheduling inspections, and spending countless hours on Pinterest planning my dream garden. We moved out of our little cottage in the rain last weekend and even though we are still pretty disorganized at the moment, we've got some seriously big smiles on our faces. What an incredible feeling it is to come home to a place that's truly ours every day, and know this is where Brent and I will likely share our next few decades together.
Thanks for being patient with me these past 3 months... and as Brent would say, "Hold on to your butts!" because I'm going to have a TON of home stuff to talk about here, for sure.
p.s. Rudy hates it here - send treats!
