Long time, no see...

Well, I'm really sneaking in under the wire to get a post up in October.  It has been a wonderfully crazy month between my sister getting married in Santa Barbara and a work trip to New Orleans.  Both events I will share in more detail, but for now I just wanted to say hi. In between the events, we have had some nice times at home together, too. Watched a few sunsets on the beach...

Explored a little in the Henry Cowell redwoods...

Worked on some calligraphy projects...

And, of course, hung out with the furry family.

Now October is coming to a close and I don't plan on doing anything for Halloween since Brent is in Arizona, but Rudy-sauras and I will watch Practical Magic, and I'm sure the work party we are planning for the office will be fun!

I'll follow up with a few more posts on the events of October, even though it will be November... I can't wait to tell the story of my new (and first) tattoo!

Happy #nationalcatday to this angelic fluffer, properly named Sir Tubbinfuffer Vanderkittenbunnyfoot Wilhelm, Earl of Feltondom. More informally known as Tubby, he’s our hilarious little psychopath and I love him and his fat belly to the moon and back ❤️🐾.
I am loving how many wonderful shops are opening up in downtown Felton! Was lovely to meet you, @mountainside_made - and Bodie too, of course!
My summer reads ☀️ 📖.
.
(1) Stardust by Neil Gaiman - I’ve loved the movie for years but didn’t know until recently it was based on a book! It was a little different than the movie, but just as charming and well-paced. All changes in the movie made perfect sense for translating to screen, so I wasn’t disappointed at all. Love a good adult fantasy novel, and this one still retains a childish spirit throughout.
.
.
(2) The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware - I read this one in a day while we were in Hawaii... it’s the quintessential page-turner beach read. The tone is set in the first few pages of the book and it never really hits a slow spot, nor does it try to be something it’s not. A great escape if you like murder mysteries on the lighter side; not too gory or twisted.
.
.
(3) Then Again by Diane Keaton - Goodness gracious I love Diane Keaton. She’s just the right amount of kooky, but relatable. This memoir centers mostly around her relationship with her mother and the part it played in her life. Easy to read as it reads much like a journal, many excerpts pulled from her mother’s many diaries she kept throughout her whole life. Highly recommend if you’re a fan of memoirs. .
.
(4) Into the Water by Paula Hawkins - this is the author that wrote Girl on the Train... this is similar in tone, although in my opinion a little less stressful to read as far as setting and character interactions. I read it over Labor Day weekend - another great murder mystery page turner.
.
.
Not pictured: Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. I wanted to read this one before I watched the HBO series based on it. The book was definitely better than the show, in my opinion. But overall the plot was pretty sick and weird... it’s not a typical murder mystery as it includes that extra little twisted, f*cked up psychological aspect similar to Flynn’s other massive book, Gone Girl. It was riveting, though! Wouldn’t really recommend the HBO series... it was just way too overdone for me.
.
Off to pick out my Fall reads! 🍁 📖.
Happy to be home this week with this lil pup. And yes, almost two weeks in Hawaii and that’s as tan as I get 🙄.

Brent and I counted our blessings as we sat and enjoyed this view. Never a day goes by that I don’t love him a least a little more, but this day I think it was a lot more. Thank you, @alittlewoody, for this lovely life we get to share 💕.
Finally starting to feel like we live in a grown up house 💖🌲.

Yesterday was the first time I have ever taken my birthday off from work, and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it than on the beach with a good book and my hubs, who only let me be in direct sunlight for exactly 12 minutes on each side. Melanoma is serious, y’all. Here’s to being 33 and eating cake by the ocean 🌊 #chbhaul
It’s a hot one out here! Partied a little too hard at a friend’s wedding last night... I’m currently sweating it all out and plotting what I’m going to order from the @ate3one food truck 👍🏼
Getting excited for the @scmmakersmarket this Sunday in Felton! This year I’m sharing my booth with my dear friend @mosaicvisionsbyvickie. Check out her work, and stop by and see us on Sunday 💖
Wow. Wow. Wow. Definitely my new favorite book I’ve read this year, hands down. I wouldn’t call it an easy read, as it is actually quite heavy... but goodness gracious this book is beautiful. ❤️
